Boiler Water Treatment Water Chemicals

Boiler Water Treatment is necessary to Producing quality steam on demand depends on properly managed water treatment to control steam purity, deposits and corrosion. There are two main types of boiler feed water treatment Internal boiler Water Treatment method and external boiler water treatment. A boiler is the sump of the boiler system. It ultimately receives all of the pre-boiler contaminants. Boiler performance, efficiency, and service life are direct products of selecting and controlling feed water used in the boiler.

Internal Water Treatment

Boiler Internal treatment is carried out by adding chemicals to boiler to prevent the formation of scale by converting the scale-forming compounds to free-flowing sludge, which can be removed by taking blowdown. This method is limited to boilers small package low pressure boilers , where feed water is low in hardness salts, to low pressures- high TDS content in boiler water is tolerated, and when only small quantity of water is required to be treated. If these conditions are not applied, then high rates of blow down are required to dispose off the sludge. They become uneconomical from heat and water loss consideration. both internal and external water treatment are recommend. Only inter boiler water treatment method is not enough to get good results.

External Water Treatment

External treatment is used to remove suspended solids, dissolved solids (particularly the calcium and magnesium ions which are major causes of scale formation) and dissolved gases (oxygen and carbon dioxide). The external treatment processes available are ion exchange or demineralization process, RO reverse osmosis and Deaeration. Before any of these are used, it is necessary to remove suspended solids and turbidity from the raw water, because these may foul the resins used in the subsequent treatment sections.

BAS-50

BAS – 50 is a cobalt catalyzed anhydrous sulfite base formulation that is designed to react almost instantaneously with oxygen present in the boiler feed water. By acting as an oxygen scavenger BAS – 50 is used to control corrosion pitting caused by the presence of dissolved oxygen. BAS – 50 is primarily used as oxygen scavenger/anticorrosion in boiler water treatment. The product ingredients comply with FDA regulations published in CFR-21 part entitled “Boiler Water Additive.

PCA-1000

POLYCONTROL – 1000 is a concentrated phosphate base formulation with a combination of carboxylates, organic polymer and dispersants. The product is designed to prevent the scale formation the boilers. PolyControl – 1000 provides one of the most effective commendations of polymers for modern, higher heat transfer boilers. PolyControl – 1000 is required to keep larger amounts of scalant in solution POLYCONTROL – 1000 is primarily used to control scale precipitates in boiler water treatment.

PCA-2000

POLYCONTROL –2000 is a concentrated phosphate base formulation with a combination of carboxylates, organic polymer and dispersants. The product is designed to prevent the scale formation the boilers. POLYCONTROL –2000 provides one of the most effective commendations of polymers for modern, higher heat transfer boilers. POLYCONTROL –2000 is required to keep larger amounts of scalant in solution POLYCONTROL –2000 is primarily used to control scale precipitates in boiler water treatment.

BWN-07

BWN 07 is a concentrated blend of neutralizing amines, which is selected to suit the particular characteristic of the system to be treated. Formulations are selected based on distribution ratio of the various amines to optimize protection throughout the steam/condensate distribution system. BWN 07 is a DEAE, CYCLO and MORPH blend ratio to optimize amines usage under FDA limitations. The product is primarily used as a neutralizer or pH controller in boiler water treatment.
